One day workshops are from 10am until 4pm unless otherwise stated. Bookings must be made in advance and accompanied by the full payment. A refund can only be given if 4 weeks notice of cancellation is received ( less £5 administration costs) *denotes new class. +denotes visiting tutor therefore no refund on cancellation. No Transfers can be made. We welcome BEGINNERS to all our workshops and courses unless otherwise stated.

Spring 2010 Teaching Calendar
Class passports available for summer workshops
You are now able to buy a class passport which will allow you to book into any of our summer workshops free of charge.
The passport fee is £75.00 (the equivalent of three workshops). Once you have purchased your passport you will be able to enrol for as many classes as you wish from 30 April. However, if you do not turn up for the class we will charge you for that class, unless you have given us four weeks written notification of cancellation. This is to prevent people from taking places in a class that could be of interest to others.
The passport is for your sole use only.
Courses and Clubs are not covered by the passport.

Designed to accompany the book of the same name....combining traditional blocks with complimentary landscapes. The effect is that of a 'Trompe l'oeil' or deceiving the eye illusion.
The use of easy perspective creates three dimensions on a flat surface and all machine sewn.
The best news of all is that no artistic talent is required for a fabulous result.
SEW SIMPLE 3D ATTIC WINDOW - NO MITRES!

Carrying on the theme of contemporary cutwork join me to learn how to suspend your textile pieces in a transparent frame.
This technique, which involves free machine work and the use of a soldering iron, will show you how to create intricate, cutwork borders and insertions to enhance your textile creations.
Some experience at free machining is necessary to do this workshop.
QUILTING A QUILT

Make a quilt in a day! with two pieces of fabric. You will be shown how to spray baste the quilt layers, straight stitch quilting and binding. The quilt should be finished to take home at the end of the day. Great for beginners and great from large scale prints.

Pre cut fabrics are available at Quilters Haven and make quilting life so much easier. Using the 10" squares that are available as 'Layer cakes' make a nine patch quilt in any size. The layer cakes contain 40 different fabrics all from the same range so that they will look co-ordinated. This sample is made from a William Morris layer cake.

Some of the topics covered are:- getting the most from your machine, machine tension, inserting zips, neatening seams and understanding pattern directions.

Our clubs are times when sewers can get together and work on their own projects in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A Tutor is available for advice from 10am - 12.30pm or all evening. Club members meet from 9.30am and often stay until closing!
